Dec 23 The Telluride Power Pow-er company has under way an investigation, inves-tigation, which if carried to a successful suc-cessful conclusion, will mean many thousands of dollars for the farmers on the west side of Cache valley Preliminary surveys are being made to determine tho " feasibility of a pumping station near Cache" Junction on Bear river, where wnter is to be taken from the river and used for irrigating ir-rigating 20,000 acres of some of the best drv farm land In the valley. The Telluride Power company has approximately G0O.000 acre feet of water wa-ter stored In Bear lake, which Is taken out during the low water season sea-son to turn the gigantic power wheels at Grace, Idaho After doing this work it will run down tho natural, channel of Bear river and If this project Is found feasible fea-sible the water w.ill be dlvortod for tho lands Iving between Cache Junction Junc-tion and Wellsvllle. It is said that there Is also a plan to secure a portion of this water for the lands In tho vicinitv of Preston and Lewiston, which if accomplished, will mean much for the northern part of the valley. |
