Show HALF RATEON CHRISTMAS TAUS Tho Mountain States Telephone & Telegraph company Is showing some real Christmas spirit thlB year by cutting the rate on all its long-dls-tanco lines, thus allowing -its patrons to pasB Christmas greeting to distant friends and relatives for just half the ordinary charge. This special rate will be in effect from 8 a. m. until noon Christmas day. W. F. Madson, district manager of tho Telcphono company, explains that the rate Is limited to the forenoon hours In order or-der that it will not be necessary to keep all the long distance operators during tho entire day Tho company wants Its operators to enjoy Christmas, Christ-mas, as well as the public, and feels that should the rate bo kept lu effect all Christmas day the long distance girls would have no chance to enjoy the holiday. It Is expected that the half rates, which aro tendered to all who desire to exchange long-distance Christmas greetings, will prove a very popular innovation and arrangements have been made by the company to handle han-dle a large volume of business on Christmas day. As the company's system embraces all parts of Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Colorado, an Unusual opportunity to say "Merry Christmas" Christ-mas" to friends at distant points has been offered.
