Show TRANSCONTINENTAL HIKER II OGDEN Ogden entortalnod another transcontinental transcon-tinental walker last night in the person per-son of David McFadyen, who claims to bo on a hike from Coney Island, N. Y., to San Francisco The New Yorker York-er claims to bo making the trip on foot. He Is accompanied by a wagon of the prairie schooner type and containing con-taining a complete camping outfit and a piano. The piano Is a factor in open air concerts given by McFadyen as a means of earning a living as ho travels from town to town. The hiker is accompanied ac-companied by his wife, and the journey, jour-ney, according to McFadyen, iB a honeymoon hon-eymoon trip, for ho was married Just before leaving New York on April o He has been delayed a total of forty-nlno forty-nlno days on route. One of his most serious delays was occasioned by the loss of a valuable mule at Cheyenne. Wyo. The hiker says ho was glad to get out of Wyoming, Wyom-ing, for the state had him hoodooed. At Evanston a few days ago somebody some-body stole a valuable bulldog from the wagon. Ho claims that so far his trip through Utah has been very -pleasant. |
