Show COUNT OGDEN OUT 0 LEAGUE Magnates of the Union Baseball association as-sociation met at Salt Lake last night to lay plans for the coming season. President W. H. Lucas occupied the chair. The following franchise holders hold-ers appeared: L. F. Thiol, for Salt Lake: .1. J. Mc-Closkey, Mc-Closkey, Butte; Geo. M. Reed, Great Falls, and J. W. Cody, Boise. Michael Finn of Ogden and H. F. Allen of Twin Falls were absent and were counted out. In their Htcnd was Wm. Joyce of St, Louis, who managed the New York GianLs in 1S97-S. Ho came to bid on the Missoula franchise. As now constituted, the association consists of Salt Lake, Butte, Boise, Great Falls and Missoula. The sixth placo is still open. Bids are expected from Ogden, Helena and TwinFalls, one of which will be selected. It was decided tonight to pool the mileage expenses and chargo each club one-sixth one-sixth of the total. A forfeit of ? 1.000 is to be required from each franchise owner The forfeits must be posted by tho lime of the next meeting, which will bo In March.
