Show STOCK MARKET STRONG AFTER WEAKNESS New York, July 28. The stock market opened today with a display of strength which quickly carried up prices to a substantially higher range. Canadian Pacific made the best gain, adancing two polts, Erie, 2nd pfa., gained 1 1-4; Union Pacific, Reading and American Beet Sugar, 'Lehigh Valley and Atchison, 3-4, and Couth-em Couth-em Pacific and New York Central 5-8. Cmaller gains were scored by the other active issues. Prices receded after the opening, but the market became firm and a large part of the advances were maintained. main-tained. American Tobacco Issues were affected by news of the re-organization plans, the preferred stock advancing 1 1-2 and the six per cent bonds a smaller amount Pittsburg Coal, pfd., gained a point and Wisconsin Wis-consin Central lost 1 1-2. The lower prices established by the recent heavy selling of stocks resulted in an increased demand and the market made iapld headway, in the early trading a few issues made further advancoB, includln gAmerican Tobacco, pfd , which rose two points.
