The commission literally raided the city of Idaho Falls in eastern Idaho this week securing twelve arrests and twelve convictions of violators of the pure food laws of thc state The raid was conducted by woramissioner Wal-lis, Wal-lis, Deputies M. S. Parker and Dr. M. W. Smith. In addition they closed down four slaughter houses and the same number of restaurants were forced forc-ed to close their doors. In the restaurants res-taurants and slaughter houses in particular conditions were found to be repulsive and filthy food stuffs were served in the former to patrons. The meats were found to contain maggots mag-gots while sanitary conditions were bad beyond description. Vogel, of the People's markeL was fined $25 for slaughtering cattle in an unsanitary abattoir. The entire city water system was inspected to ascertain if the cause for thc complaint made by consumers that the water was Impure was correct.
