Show Speech Classes At USAC Church and civic workers as well as regular students are invited in-vited to enroll in speech classes at Utah State Agricultural college during the fall, winter and spring quarters, Dr. Chester J. Myers, head of the speech department, reported Thu-sriay. Work in public speaking, debate, voice science, speech correction, interpretative reading, acting, di recting and stage-craft will be offered of-fered under expanded speech and drama curricula, he said. Outlining a preliminary schedule sched-ule of speech activities, Dr. Myers reported that with better stage I facilities, improved auditorium ac- coustical properties, and new work-! work-! shOD Quarters, dramatic activities promise to reach new heights. Major drama productions already scheduled include "Blithe Spirit" by Noel Coward and "Kiss and Tell' by F. Hugh Hubert. Following Fol-lowing a lapse of several years, the Shakespeare play a major student event, will again be produced pro-duced during the spring quarter. One of Shakespeare's comedies will be selected. Speech contests and assemblies will form a major part of speech and drama activity at USAC. Students Stud-ents also will have wide and varied va-ried opportunities for appearances on public programs, Dr. Meyers concluded. i |
