Show About Town The Ladies Literary Club met with Miss Gweiulella Thornley at her home Thursday al'U'nioon. Mrs. H. Leo Hales reviewed lhe book "Wind Si'.ncl and Stars" by Antoine l)i" Saint Kxupery. Sixteen Six-teen club members were present. Mrs. Clark Thornley and Mrs. L. Dr. R. V. Larson and family left this morning for Camp Lewis Washington, where Dr. Larson will serve as Captain in the Med: cal Corps for one year. Mrs. George P. Toolson entertained enter-tained at a beautifully arranged bridge luncheon at her heme on Friday afternoon. Luncheon was served at small tables centcrec .with vases of roses. High score ', prize was won by Mrs. J. W. Kir-kbride Kir-kbride and high cut prize by Mrs. ! Richard Roskelley. Those included includ-ed were Mrs. T. W. Jarvis, Mrs. ! Frank Winn, Mrs. Katie Cragun, Mrs. H. W. Fern, Mrs. William V. Toulson were special tuiests. Luncheon was served by the hostess, host-ess, j Mrs. Kate Ewing entertained at a dinner party Wednesday at her home. Twenty ladies were included in-cluded and the afternoon was spent in quilting. I The Singing Mothers of thej Smithfield Stake will furnish the music for the conference to be held Sunday, November 24th. Pr-j actice will be held Tuesday atj ahe Library under the direction of Mrs. Jean Lundquist. Mrs. Wayman Hillyard entertained enter-tained at a Halloween party on Thursday afternoon at her home. The Halloween motif was carried out in all the appointments. Those Tho-se included were Mr. and Mrs. ' Erlo Gordon, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hillyard, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Fisher, Fish-er, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Plowman' Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Plowman, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Michaelis, Mr.- and Mrs. Earl Bair of Richmond Richm-ond and Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Neilcou of Richmond. An evening of Pinochle was enjoyed. Luncheon Lunch-eon was served by the hostess. Mrs. Raymond Crockett and small son of Preston is visiting with relatives. re-latives. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Roskeiley accompanied hy Mrs. William Cowley Co-wley and daughte r of Richfield left Wednesday for Fort Collins, Colorado where they will visit with Mr. and Mrs. R. Mr Charles Lundquist left cn Monday for Los Angeles for an j indefinite stay. WhMe there he ' will be the guest of his brother and sister-in law, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Lundquist and family. Nephi Lundberg. ; Mrs. James Gyllenskog return-' ed home Sunday after visiting for two weeks at the ibome of Mr, and Mrs. Ervin Evenson at Portland, Port-land, Oregon. Mrs Evenson was ...... formerly Miss Artense Gyllenskog On the return, trip home she visited with Mr. and Mrs. Read and Arthur Gyllenskog at Nyssa, Oregon, where Mr. Read and Gyllenskog Gy-llenskog are employed at the sugar su-gar factory. She also visited at Pocatello with Mr. and Mrs. Eli Bradley, and reports having a very enjoyable trip, visiting many places of interest in Portland and in that vicinity. Mr. and Mrs. George Weeks announce the birth of a son born Sunday at their home. Mrs. Golden Sorensen underwent underwe-nt an appendicitis operation at the Budge Hospital on Tuesday. Mrs. Lillian L. Rigby left on Thursday for Salt Lake to meet her husband who has been released re-leased from the Western States Mission on account of ill health. |
