Show ' , " ' ..L,...::'. Singer at College Monday Maria Hussa . . . European Artist Sings on First College Lyceum. Appearance of Maria Hussa, famed lyric and dramatic soprano in the Utah State Agricultural Agri-cultural college auditorium Monday at 11 a.m. marks the opening of the 1943-44 lyceum program pro-gram at U S A- C, Dr. Thelma Fogelberg, chairman of the lyceum committee, announced today. Formerly a member of the Berlin and Vienna operas, Miss Hussa is one of the many artists who left Vienna following Hitler's entry into Austria. At the present time she is a member of the Metropolitan and Chicago opera companies. compan-ies. Her Monday program will include songs by Shubert, ' Grieg, Richard Strauss, Dvorak, Bizet, Gounod, Massenet and several modern American composers. Students will be admitted by student body cards, and faculty members by faculty season tickets. The general public is invited to attend and will be charged a general admission fee. |
