Show Topnotch Rodeo Will Be Presented at Fair With a large crew hard at work on the rodeo arena at r ''the Cache county fair grounds, preparations are advancing rapidly for the opening night, Thursday, August 24 at 8 p. m., according to Chairman Parley Reese of Benson, and his assistants, County Commissioner Parley Hall, Wells-ville Wells-ville ; Fair President Eric E. Hendricks, Lewiston, and Secretary Sec-retary M. R. Hovey; Logan. Mr. Reese said the grand entry will come from the east side through a gate between the judges stand and the new grand stand. They will face the audience as they enter making for a much better appearance. The gates to the south will be used for emergencies. The committee members have arranged the granc 'stands and chutes so they nearly surround the 'arena and only a little fencing is necessary. This fence has to be about 7 feet high to keep the wild Brahma bulls from jumping over. The new smaller arena will provide much better lighting for the show, according to the committee. Lighting is being be-ing installed by members of the Logan city electric light department under the supervision of Cliff Haws. Mr. Reese said that Frank Chitwood, the new rodeo clown, has promised to run for the front part of the grand stands when the bulls crowd him too much and too fast. Chitwood is considered one of the most daring and best wild) bull fighters on the rodeo circuit. He is bruised up most of the time. The new arrangements at the arena will make for a much faster show, he explained, as the pickup men can do their work, more quickly. "It is not wise to turn a bronc or wild bull in the arena until all other animals are cleared" Mr. Reese pointed out. "In a large arena, this delays the show considerably." i The Richter rodeo stock have been pastured out near Benson and are resting up for the show. They should be in the best of condition. . . wairman Reese announced that Louis Brooks, Pittsburg, Pitts-burg, OkL, last year's champion all-around cowboy, will participate in the local rodeo. Another topnotch performer will be Homer Pettigrew, Grady, N. M. The pair have the highest scores for th'e year, and Brook's would 'like. "to win the title again this fall.
