Show Services Control Extended by OPA! OPA price control of "services" j has been expanded to include j safety deposit boxes, food lockers, I sharpening and repairing tools, cleaning septic tanks and cess j pools, even pool-halls, and a multitude mul-titude of other businesses. Physicians, detatists, beauticians and barbers who furnish service but no commodities are still ex- empt from price, control, O. Guy Cardon, chairman of the Cache j County war price and rationing j board, said today. Because new commodities and '. appliances cannot be purchased and : the expenditures for services by j the average family are increasing j so rapidly, new precautions have had to be taken to arrest inflation in this field, the chairman said. The basis for determining ceiling ceil-ing prices is the highest price charged during March, 1942, according accord-ing to the chairman. All service establishments are required by September 1 to file a statement with local price and war rationing boards or ascept the alternative of having the OPA establish their price schedules. |
