Show Commencement Week Program Announced Schedule of events for Utah State Agricultural college's 52nd annual commencement week to begin Monday, were outlined today to-day by Professor H. R. Kepner, chirman of the graduation committee. com-mittee. Senior day, Wednesday, will be first event of the traditional ceremonies, he announced. Spencer Spen-cer Wheatley, of Brigham City, class president, will be in charge. Mary White, of Tremonton, will deliver the senior class address in an assembly at 11 a. m. in the college auditorium. A feature of the program will be naming of 12 outstanding seniors to Alpha Sigma Nu, honorary senior society. so-ciety. The class gift will be presented pre-sented to college officials. At 9 p. m., graduation candidate candi-date wearing commencement caps and gowns, will conduct the traditional tra-ditional candlelight parade. Elva Oldroyd, of Venice, senior class vice president, will lead the seniors sen-iors in a tour of the campus, pausing at each major building where a member of the class will review activities of the past four years. Dr. N. A. Pedersen, dean of the school of arts and sciences at USAC, will deliver the address to graduates" at commencement exercises scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m., in the college auditorium. audi-torium. Dr. Pedersen, a member of the college faculty since. 1917, will retire this year. A reception for graduates, parents, par-ents, members of the board of trustees, alumni members and faculty of the college will be held Saturday from 3:30 to 5:30 p. m., in the reception lounge of the Commons building. Dr. E. G. Peterson, Pe-terson, president of the college, and Mrs. Peterson, will be hosts. Concluding event will be. the baccalaureate services to be conducted con-ducted Sunday at 10 a. m. In the auditorium. J. Reuben Clark, member of the first presidency of the L.D.S. church, will deliver the baccalaureate sermon. |
