Show Ephraim Item- M. Maxfield, who has been running a saw-mill iu Twin Creek canyon came through our city this morning on his way to Six Mile canyon where he expects ex-pects to have his mill located this fall, ready for work next spring. His sons are with him, Tbe aged gentleman gentle-man is one of. Utah's pioneers, arriving In Salt Lake valley in 1851, and has been engaged in the lumber business in Cottonwood canyon till lately, when he located in our county. This morning he was taken violently ill from a cold contracted during the night, but through the tender care bestowed by the people where he stopped in Ephraim, he recovered re-covered and thus returned on his way again. We wish him snceess. . The democrats had their caucus for nominating city officers on Tuesday evening, eve-ning, aud the republicans had their caucus on Wednesday evening, and each party made a good selection of candidates candi-dates for the people of our sister city. Thursday evening, Mr. Andrew Jeason the historian, will address the Scandinavians Scandi-navians in Ephraim on republicanism |
