Show Wbathifl b?eome of County Editois association? A meeting wa9 to have been held the last of October, but we have heard nothing of it as yet. Next week the Reporter will apoear on Wednesday morning and will contain con-tain a fnll telesraph repart of the election elec-tion in the territory. Djn't fail to get a copy. We are pleased to 1-arn that the political poli-tical parties have Ceeided to fuse on the question of school trustees. Oar sshools, in order to make them what they should be, need the united tffjrte of oil our citizens exerted in their behalf, be-half, and now that it is settled, that the school trustees are to be selected from both parties, by all the people as it were, we may look for immediate improvement im-provement In the direction of sciooi facilities. Lei lis hope that fu-ton on the ticket of trustees will hs successful el-wv- h-ie as well as in our city. In our last isr-ue we criiicized the action ma gentleman who gave out a notice of a political meeting in the Tabernacle on Columbus Col-umbus day. It seems we were in error in the matter. The gentleman gentle-man who gave out the notice had been asked to do so, and had com plied with the request against his wishes. He also thought that one of the republicans on the stand would announce the republican meeting, and moreover, he did not know for sure when it was to come off, or at what place. When .the master of ceremonies granted him permission to speak, he snid '"announce '"an-nounce both meetings" (rne'anio? democratic and republican) but he was misunderstood, and the gentle nun making the announcement thought he meant the democratic meetings. It was caused by a slight misunderstanding between the two gentlemen aad under the circumstances circum-stances we feel that we did the gentlemen gen-tlemen an injustice and cheerfully make what reparation is in our - 1 power. |
