Show BEAVER COUNTY POST OF AMERICAN LEGION AWARDED STATE TROPHY Enthusiasm similar to that which carried the American Expeditionary Forces to a glorious victory, characterized char-acterized the convention of the southern Utah American Legion posts at Spanish Fork Sunday. More than 100 members of the Lehi, Pro-vo, Pro-vo, Spanish Fork, Price, Beaver, Salina, Mt. Pleasant, Nephi, - Cedar City and Blanding posts were present. pres-ent. Representatives from the Beaver Post were Commander E. A. Petty and Ernest Joseph. Beaver Post No. 32, of the American Ameri-can Legion received high recognition at the convention by being awarded the large silver loving cup, which is offered annually to the past show-: in the greatest activity for the year, ! in activities, comrrtunity service and membership. The presentation of this cup will be made at the annual convention, con-vention, of the Legion in Salt Lake next August. This honor came to the local post through their untiring efforts in ac- complishing the many projects promoted pro-moted by the past, including the erection er-ection of the "Doughboy" memorial, the building of the large pavilion, the successful rodeo sponsored by the boys and the phenominal growth in membership. In this last accomplishment, accom-plishment, the local post practically doubled their membership during the year. Through the efforts of Dr. Petty, it was arranged to hold' a similar regional re-gional convention in Beaver about the middle of February, when representatives rep-resentatives from all posts in the state, south from Salina, will meet in this city. The date of the Beaver convention will be announced within a few days. The Beaver County post is also making arrangements to hold initiation initia-tion and benquet in Milford in the near future, at which time a number of new members; from Minersville and Milford will be taken into the post.
