Rolapp of the Utah Taxpayers' association.! indications point to one of the most important conventions ever held in '. the state of Utah. The Utah Taxpay- er's convention will bring together: delegates from every part of the! state, who under the direction of; this state organization, will endeavor! to lay down the principles which should obtain in the tax situation in this state. Probably nowhere else in the U. S. has such a meeting been held that is so representative of all taxpayers of I the Star district. In fact, all indica-i Hons point to an increase. The value which the Taxpayers association as-sociation has to men in public life and to others who hold responsible positions will be given at the dinner meeting, commencing at 6:30 p. m. on December 7 at the Newhouse hotel. ho-tel. President Geo. Thomas of the University of Utah will point out how Taxpayers association can be of assistance to schools. Senator A. Ii. Irvine, who, as president of the Senate will discuss the activities of the Utah Taxpayers' association during the 'last legislature. legisla-ture. Mr. Wm. E. McKell, speaker of the House will present his views as to the value of this organization to lawmakers. Resolutions will be presented dealing deal-ing with the principles of taxation to be submitted to public officials as guiding principles in establishing levies, creating bonds and any other form of expenditures for the upkeep of government. "This is a meeting for all taxpayers," taxpay-ers," said Judge Rolapp. "They aio all invited the rich and the poor, the high and the low." While some will come as official representatives of the association, all sessions are open to the public. It is now for the taxpayers themselves them-selves to decide how the tax problems prob-lems of this stale shall he solved. This county will lie wen represented at the conference. The morning session starts at 10 o'clock; the afternoon meeting f.t 2 o'clock and the evening affair at fi:30 p. m. A special one-half rale on return tickets will he given to all who attend at-tend the convention of the Utah Taxpayers Tax-payers association. These rates will be offered on all the steam lins, namely, Denver anil Rio Grande Western. Oregon Short Line and the Salt Lake route.
