Show UTAH'S LOWEST POINT No doubt many people, if asked to name the lowest point in Utah, wouM answer, "Salt Lake," which is the Temnant of the great prehistoric water wa-ter that covered a large area in Utah, says the New York Commercial and Financial World. The lowest point, however, is not Salt Lake but Beaver Dam Creek, in Washington county, -which is 2000 feet above sea level, ac cording to the Department of the In-' In-' terior, Geological Survey. Utah has an approximate mean elevation of '6100 feet, which is exceeded only by that of Colorado, 6,800 feet and Wyoming, Wy-oming, 6700. The highest point whose elevation has been exactly determined de-termined is Kings Peak, in Wasatch county, which is 13498 feet above sea level. A. |
