Show COMMUNITY CAMP District Forester R. H. Ruthledge, at Ogden has announced the issuance of a permit to the City of Nephi to establish a public camp on Salt Creek at the base of Mt. Nebo, in Northern Juab county. Under the cooperative agreement, the city secures a beautiful camp site without charge, with the understanding under-standing that the city authorities and Nephi Chamber of Commerce will install camp facilities, fireplaces, tables, toilets a.nd playground equipment equip-ment and police area. The camp is reached quickly by auto from Nephi and is situated on a clear mountain stream at the foot of the Forest Service Ser-vice trail leading to Nebo's crest. Thousands of visitors are expected to visit the camp each season. The climb to the top will be a popular hike, according to Forest officers and the Nephi enthusiast. Nebo is one of the most beautiful peaks in the State. It rises abruptly from the floor of Juab valley to an elevation of nearly 12,000 feet. From the crest a view of unexcelled grandeur and interest is obtained. To the south and west the mountains and valleys of Southern Utah and Nevada Ne-vada are plainly visible. The rugged outlines of Mt. Wheeler in Nevada can be seen. To the north, with Tini-panogos Tini-panogos standing sentinel, beautiful Utah Lake reminds one of a magnificent magni-ficent jewel sparkling In the sun. Easternly the view reaches the rugged rug-ged cliffs of Castle Valley. Th ' landscape land-scape ranges from barren desert to the most beautiful and productive valleys on earth. The top is leadily accessible to people of all ages, and the climb is in no sense a test of endurance. en-durance. Forest officials state there ore many similar opportunities in Utah for local communities to select and develop a most pleasant summer camp where local people would enjoy en-joy inexpensive vacations and which would lengthen the stay of visitors to Utah.
