Show First Fashion Show in Milford Given by Business Women Visitors in our city were asking what caused all the excitement and rush on our streets last Saturday evening. "Why it is the fashion show at the Orpheum theatre, besides be-sides an extra good picture show on tonight." ,. At 6:30 people began to gather at the box office and at 7:30 there was not even standing room. Crowds kept trying to gain admission and when Manager Ruschmeier saw the throngs he was turning away he at once made arrangements with the business houses to give two lashion shows, which caused feeiings of relief re-lief to those who were keenly disappointed disap-pointed by being unable to gain admission ad-mission to the first show. When the comedy and feature were given and the fashion show an nounced, there was a calm, caused by eager expectancy for the event of the evening the first fashion show ever given in Milford. Strains of low sweel music came from the stage, and then appeared one of Milford's lovely maidens, gowned in perfect style and elegance. Fashion! She was greeted by rounds of applausa. They then kept coming. The models were all residents of Milford and as they displayed the beautiful colorings, color-ings, rich materials and dashing trimmings, showing the touch of : master hand in combining all this wealth of loveliness, one wondered why these beautiful girls and women wo-men had ever used their ability bo-fore bo-fore to give the Milford public such a wonderful treat and help to show them where they could get elaborate and tasteful dresses in our city, that are not eclipsed anywhere in the state. One lady said, "I shut my eyes to prove I was not dreaming, so as to see if upon opening them it was i-reality, i-reality, and when my eyes opened and beheld the beautiful ladies pos ing to the strains of sweet music, in gowns of every hue, bedecked with crystals, opalescent beads, choice lace and imported trimmings; and each one giving out a sweet smile to everybody, I thought of old paintings paint-ings and picture that reveled in majestic grandness and sublime beauty, brought out in canvas, only by the mind of the artist. There we had the living, breathing models and no artist could paint more beauty ia a gown than these we beheld or. Saurday evening." REMARKS HEARD "Well I won't send away for any more dresses.
