Show REBEL LOSSES HEAVYJN FIGHT CONSTABULARY FORCE OF 39 MEN SEVERELY REPULSE LIBERAL ARMY FORCES OF 200 Bombing Planet Reported Great Aid in Delivering Severe Beating to Their Foes Manugua, Nicaragua United States murines and Nicaiaguan constabulary severely repulsed General Sandlno, recalcitrant re-calcitrant Liberal, who attacked Oco-tal Oco-tal Saturday afternoon and again Sunday. Sun-day. The rebel losses were more than fifty killed and many wounded. One marine was killed and one wounded. The rebels were bombed by planes sent from Managua, and apparently they did considerable execution. The marines, numbering thirty-nine, were under command of Hajor Hatfield, Hat-field, while the constabularly was under un-der Lieutenant C-rover Darnell. Ocotal, a small town about 110 miles north of Managua, was attacked by General Sandino, former liberal, who continues to oppose the peace settlement settle-ment in Nicaragua. Two scout planes returned here from Ocotal and reported to General Feland, commander of the American forces, that the marines and constabulary consta-bulary were defending the town against Sandino and 200 men. |
