Show o MILFORD LEAGUE WINS SILVER LOVING CUP For the second consecutive year, Milford Epworthians have won highest high-est recognition in competition with the other Leagues of the state. Although Al-though meeting some real competition, competi-tion, the local young people would not accept defeat, and that spirit of determination finally won out. The big silver loving cup, symbolic of institute victory, will remain in Milford Mil-ford for another year, when a final attempt will be made to win it for all time. All of the delegates from Milford, twelve in number, contributed to the large total of 272 points for the local chapter. Miss Gladys Coleman ranked among the best girl athletes, and Bill Cochrane, was high point man again. The Milford group furnished fur-nished an unexpected surprise in winnnig all four of the horseshoe tournaments, a feat never before accomplished ac-complished by any league. Miss Eva Coleman took the girles singles, Misses Margaret Cochrane and Gladys Coleman won the girl's doubles. Messrs Glenn Stonehocker and Cochrane took the men's doubles. Other first places won by the local delegates included the boy's relay race, girl's relay jump, Bill Coch-rane's Coch-rane's victories in the shot put and dash, Luzine Jenning's beautiful display dis-play of art and flowers, Gladys Colpninn's football Dassinc. and Mr. Root's football punting. Many second, sec-ond, third and fourth places rounded out the total score. One institute record was broken. Milton Butts of Liberty Park, making a standing broad jump of 9 feet, 10 inches. Milford's delegation was entertained entertain-ed in Salt Lake by Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cottrell, spending Monday afternoon af-ternoon at Salt Air, and being guests of Centenary at a delightful party that evening.
