SOCIAL DANCE AND PROGRAM The L. D. S. Hall was the scene of a very pleasant social affair Tuesday evening this week. It was given under un-der the auspice's of the Young People's Peo-ple's Mutual Improvement Association. Associa-tion. There was a program of music mu-sic and a reading by Miss Mills. The vocal selections were given by Mrs. Woodbury's classes of the high school Dancing followed the program and was greatly enjoyed by the young people. VALENTINE CARD PARTY One of the most delightful pre-Lenten pre-Lenten social functions of the season sea-son was given by the Catholic Aid Ladies at the home of Mrs. P. J. Adams Wednesday afternoon., Ten tables were filled witfi players. The decorations and refreshments were cleverly carried out in the Valentine effect. The invited guests present were Mesdames H. Hanks, J. Smithson, Rheams, Berkheimer, Ingols, Elmer, Nichols, Bardsley, Stoddard, A. Lewis, Reddick, Yeager, J. Theissen, Isaacs, Boyter, Crandall, J. Williams, A. Hedges, Fotheringham, Koon. E. Barton, Glenn, Gleason, Misses Ruth and Nina Theissen. First prize was won by Mrs. Fotheringham, consolation consola-tion prize by Mrs. J. Theissen and draw prize by Mrs. A. Lewis. Prize at the beginners' table was won by Mrs. Yeager. Mrs. C. C. Sloan had as her guests at the party Mrs. A. Bailey, Mrs. H. R. Woolley, D. A. Baxter and Mrs. Gorley of Miners-vllle. Miners-vllle. Mrs. Gorley won the guest prize. Aid members assisting Mrs. Adams were Mesdames Martin, Manning, O'Hara, O'Rourke, Sloan, Brooks, Welch and LaTourette. The Embroidery club met with Mrs. H. Wheat last Friday afternoon, and it was decided to give the club a name. Mrs. Berkheimer had the honor of naming the club, which will hereafter be known as "The Priscilla." A delightful luncheon was served. The next meeting will be with Mrs. P. J. Adams, on Friday, Fri-day, February 23. li. D. S. CHURCH SERVICES Sunday school at 10:30 a. m. and regular services at 2:00 p. m. every Sunday. The Mutual Improvement Association Associ-ation meets every Tuesday night at 7:30. The Ladies' Relief Society meets every Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Primary Association meets every Monday afternoon at 3:30. The Religious Class meets at 4 o'clock on Saturday afternoons. ANOTHER GOOD STRIKE. 10 PER CENT COPPER. There was a good strike made on the Utnh-ilalimore claims Wednesday Wednes-day of this week when at a depth of thirty-two feet, two feet of 3 0 to 4 0 per cent copper ore was encountered. The Utah-Bnliniore has eleven claims and a shaft of 12,r feet depth has been sunk on one claim. The strike, however, was made in a new working at the 32 foot depth. The entire stock of this company is owned own-ed by T. J. Evans of Milford, Mr. Freerer of Lyndyl and Mr. Allen of Salt Lake City. The property joins the Copper Ranch mining claims. Mr. Evans was in town yesterday with samples of the strike and was arranging ar-ranging to start shipment of ore at an early date. |
