Show CHAMPIONSHIP BASKET BALL Husky Hinckley Hoopers Have Hard But Happy Hour for Honors The championship game of basket ball played on the high school gymnasium floor at Mil- ford Monday evening was a humdinger, so to speak. The game was between Murdock and Hinckley, and the teams were quite evenly matched. The heavier weight of the Hinckley boys and a little better team work were the deciding features which resulted in victory for Hinckley. But it was certain- ly no disgrace to be defeated by such a team and the victory is not entirely for the winning team, for Murdock played a plucky game and though two points behind at the end of the first half, fought to the finish. The score was 30 to 19. St. George and Cedar City are tied for the championship of the southern league and the winner of the final game between those two evenly matched teams will play Hinckley for the southern championship. It is hoped that the game can be arranged for at Milford as it must be played on a neutral floor and the local school undoubtedly has the best indoor court in southern Utah. The following is the line-up of the Hinckley champions: Jackson, L. G. Roundy, R. G. Stout, C. Pratt, R. F. Petty, L. F. Bishop, R. F. Reed, R. G. Coach F. G. Eyre was with his team during the Milford vis- it and was naturally well pleased with the showing the boys made. Mr. Eyre was for- merly a Minersville boy and his work as coach shows well in the team work of the Hinckley ag- gregation of hoopers. |
