Show BLACKROCK IS NOW BOOMING One of the liveliest points on the railroad north of Milford Is the town of Blackrock. Through the enterprise of Arthur James this station of the Salt Lake is fast becoming known as the dis- tributing point for a very act- . ive mining district. There are nine companies operating In the Antelope group of the Mineral Range" about ten miles from Blackrock. The little hotel is crowded to its fullest capacity every day and Mr. James' store is doing a thriving business. This enterprising merchant Is running a jitney from the store to the mines and making free deliveries of supplies. His prices are high enough to cover the extra cost and it saves the min- ing operators the bother of de' liveries. Though Milford is twenty-three miles from these mines it would no doubt get a much larger slice of the grow- ! ing business of this important mining section if the roads were in condition to travel. As a matter of fact the roads are almost worse than no roads for j a considerable portion of the year. We need good roads more : than any other public Improve- ment In this county. |
