Show O DEI.L STILL ROOSTING WAR SAVING STAMPS Geo. T. O'Dell stopped over here Monday evening for a few minutes on his return trip from the coast, where he had been on a short visit. Mr. O'Dell Is so in the habit of boosting war saving stamps that he went Into In-to the comparative value of the stamps which are at par. always at par, with the value of Liberty bonds which are at a discount, always at a discount or as he said, always at a discount until the monied man has bought up all of them that he wanted, want-ed, then they will go to and above par. Mr. Odell strongly urges the people to hold onto their bonds as eventually they will bring dollar for dollar. He further says thai at the time the laborer and the farmer were urged to buy bonds and buy to the limit, they were told that the federal fed-eral banks would get behind the bonds and keep them at par. This was done until the last bond wis sold then the monied man stepped in and pulled the bottom from under, and the bonds went to n discount, und the millionaire, who hud bought very sparingly during the drives began to buy whenever a farmer or laborer must have the money. Mr. Odell thinks the treasury department should arrange the rate of interest so that the bonds would be maintained maintain-ed at par, and do it before the rich man had corralled all the bonds at a large discount. He said no one ever lost a cent on War Savings stamps and no one ever would. So buy war savings stamps now and always. |
