Show HINGKLEYJMNS GAME The Hinckley Basket Ball Team visited Minersville last Friday night. The game which followed was much more exciting than satisfying to tho home team from point of view of the resulting score. Longer experience in training had resulted in a deftness deft-ness which proved too much for even such an organization as the Minersville Miners-ville huskies. However, considering that this is the first active year of the home team the actual work on the floor was most encouraging and it must be conceded that some of the ball passing done by the home boys was most admirable. The building has been well equipped equip-ped with lights and attractions in the form of reading material, but the results have not met the anticipations anticipa-tions of the promotorp. To further advance the movement a committee of four from the fatal ty was chosen to offer one evening's entertainment each weok to the public. Pursuant to that last (Wednesday) evening was set aside for the initial evont. it consisted of a stereopticon lecture delivered by Mr. Morris. The magnificent mag-nificent response of the parents and students was doubly gratifying to those interested. The assembly room was packed to its utmost capacity. The lecture consisted of views and an explanatory talk on the people of Africa, a short trip through the dark continent with Col. RooBovelt. and concluded with some viewH of features of special interest taken in our own school. The prevailing spirit after the function was very gratifying, gratify-ing, and was certainly a healthy beginning be-ginning for so admirablo a move. Wll T. Morris, Gorr. |
