"500" AM) LUNCHEON' Mrs. Ray Dondanvillo entertained a number of her friends at luncheon yesterday. The afternoon was very pleasantly paasod at the popular game of "five hundred." t t t li. I). 8. DANCE WEDNESDAY NIGHT A social dance was given Wednesday Wednes-day night In the L. D. S. church by the deacons. The young folks report re-port a pleasant time. t t t DELIGHTFUL BIRTHDAY PARTY On Wednesday night Miss Nellie Ferguson was hostess to a crowd of school friends, the occasion being in honor of her fourteenth birthday. After an evening spent in games and other entertainment, delicious refreshments re-freshments were served. Those enjoying en-joying Nellie's hospitality were the following: Aleen Miller, Katie Stoddard, Stod-dard, Irene Tanner, Margaret Foth-orlngham, Foth-orlngham, Barbara Fotherlngham, Vera Munford, Lapreal Carter, Lethea Schow, Lillian Tanner, Ber-nlce Ber-nlce Weston and Margaret Runswick. t t t (). K. H. CLUB ENTERTAINS AT MASONIC HALL One of the' delightful affairs of the past week was the O. E. S. club party nt the Masonic hall. The evening was enjoyed playing five hundred, and a few musical numbers were enjoyed. en-joyed. A delicious supper was served. Mrs. L. D. Brooks and Mr. W. Lund were awarded the first prizes, while Miss Catherine Smith-son Smith-son and Mr. H. Ward bid the consolation conso-lation prizes. t t t MACCABEES WILL ENTERTAIN The new lodge of the Maccabees, organized only a week, is Btarting off with vim and "pep" that is not only commendable but also Is prophetic of growth and success. Neat invitations invita-tions anJ programs have been issued for uie installation of officers and grand opening ball for Tuesday evening, ev-ening, January 30th. The affair promises to be one of the most delightful de-lightful social events of the Milford winter season. The affair is strictly Invitational and without charge. W. O. N. O. CLUB EVENING OK BRIDGE Wednesday evening the W. O. N. O. club was entertained by Mr. and Mrs. Jorgeosen at their home. The usual pastime, bridge, was enjoyed by all. The Streets and Adklns took the honors of the evening. t t t TEACHERS AFTERNOON WITH MRS. BLACK Thursday morning the Grammar school teachers assembled as usual for duty, but were dismissed on account ac-count of lack ot heat in the rooms. Mrs. Harry Black invited the teachers to her home and a most pleasant day was spent vielng with each other in needlework. A most delicious dinner was served by the hostess. The following were present: pres-ent: Mrs. W. W. Murray, Mrs. Vandyke Van-dyke Johnstone, Miss Gertrude Evans, Mrs. D. A. Webster, Mrs. Pope, Mrs. Buckingham and the hostess. t t t WARD-PALMER CARD PARTY ENJOYED Mrs. H. Ward and Mrs. H. Palmer, at the home of the former, entertained entertain-ed a few friends Tuesday evening at five hundred. The honors of the evening ev-ening were awarded Mrs. A. Fotherlngham, Fother-lngham, Mr. Jorgensen, Mrs. Elmer and Mrs. Munford. Those enjoying the affair were Mr. and Mrs. Jorgensen, Jorgen-sen, Mr. and Mrs. W. Elmer, Mr. and Mrs. Munford, Mr. and Mrs. Dowd, Mr. and Mrs. A. Fotherlngham, Mr. and Mrs. E. Barton, Miss Leona Fotherlngham, Miss Helen Palmer, Mr. Carlisle, Mr. S. Atkln, Horace Palmer and Harry Ward. t t t SOUTHERN DINNER PARTY The teachers who were given a vacation from the Grammar school routine on Wednesday because of the lack of means to warm the rooms enjoyed a dinner party at the home of Mrs. Murray, one of their number. num-ber. Mrs. Murray comes from Carolina Caro-lina and she prepared a spread for the teachers in true Southern style which was a real delight to her guests. The afternoon was spent in needle work and conversation. Those present were Mrs. Johnstone, Mrs. "Webster, Miss Evans and Mrs. Black and their hostess. Mr. Smith, having no crocheting to bring was ruled out of the party. |
