Show INVALID EXPIRED Aged Physician Passes Away iii Milford and Funeral Held Monday Dr. McChesney is dead. The old gentleman passed away last Sunday evening about 6:30 o'clock. Aged, partially para- lized and helpless, the one time physician, cultured and well read, a native of "Old Virgin- ia," the home of the father of his country, went to his reward. The deceased was ninety-five years old, and for the past four weeks has been a sufferer from partial paralysis of his lower limbs. He had been living with a niece by marriage at Nada, who alone with the aid of neighbors cared for the old man until his condition became such that it was deemed best to send him where he might receive medical medi-cal atte"htion. The neice was a long distance from either telephone or railroad. It does not appear after investigation that any one is to be blamed for the old man's condition of last week when he was taken off the train and placed in a hotel at Milford. The railroad employes helped to carry the invalid from the train and Mr. and Mrs. Harter who had happened to be on the train helped to care for the old man all that night. A physician was called within a half hour after the sick man was placed in the hotel and everything every-thing that was possible was done to relieve the sufferer. Dr. McChesney was old and childish, and no doubt, a great care. The funeral was held Monday from the undertaking parlors par-lors of E. B. Jorgensen, Bishop Burns conducting the service. |
