Show Lad Painfully Injured Fred Cottrell Thrown From Cart and Dragged Shortly after two o'clock, Wednesday Wednes-day afternoon, Fred Cottrell, the fourteen four-teen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Cottrell, was thrown or fell from a cart in which he was seated, and painfully pain-fully cut and bruised. Young Cottrell was sitting in the cart, holding the horse for a companion, who was in Bill and Bill's grocery, when something some-thing startled the animal and it began to run. In trying to check the horse, the boy stood "up and in rounding the corner, near Pr. Hamilton's oflice, he pitched out and hii feet caught in the lines, dragging him fora short distance until the horse was stopped by witnesses wit-nesses of the accident. The iad was taken into Dr. Hamilton's oflice, where his wounds were dressed and twelve stitches taken in his head. Besides the cut on his head, young CottreU's arms and face were severely bruised. It is not thought the boy's injuries are dangerous, but are exceedingly ex-ceedingly painful. While having his wounds dressed, Fred displayed unusual pluck and declared de-clared his willingness to have his head sewed up without an anasthaetic. I |
