Show MINERSVILLE NOTES Mrs. Lee Miller, who accompanied her husband to Salt Lake when he enlisted some time ago, has gone to California to live. Ora Thompson, who has been in school at St. George, returned to her home in Minersville last week. The length of her visit is indefinite. A good crowd attended the high school dance last Friday evening. The high school orchestra furnished a considerable part of the music and made a very creditable appearance. The dance was pronounced an entire success by those who attended. Members of the high school are hard at work on an operetta, "The Isle of Chance," under the direction of Miss Axtens. Maronl Myers, who was injured during the holidays, returned last Tuesday from the hospital at Cedar. At the meeting of the Home and School Association" last week, Superintendent Super-intendent Karl T. Maeser gave a very interesting and pointed talk op the relations of teachers, parents and children. Principal I. D. Stewart also spoke on local problems. Miss Ida Bracken was suddenly called to St. George last Friday night by the illness of her father, who was suffering from pneumonia and complications. com-plications. His death occurred on Saturday afternoon. During her absence Miss Stoney, a student in the Normal department at Murdock Academy, is teaching. It is not known when Miss Bracken will return re-turn to her work in Minersville. The trip of Principal I. D. Stewart to Salt Lake City, which was postponed post-poned last week on account of a change of program of the State legislature, leg-islature, is now scheduled for this week end. He will leave Thursday night and represent the interests of the Beaver county teachers at the meeting on Saturday. Miss Yeomans, who has been suffering suf-fering from a severe attack of la-grippe, la-grippe, resumed part of her class work last Wednesday and by the end of the week will be carrying full work again. . |
