Show Up To You BEAVER COUNTY . MUST HUSTLE There were nine present at the Merchants' banquet at the Hotel Milford Mil-ford last night. After partaking to their satisfaction of a splendid chicken dinner the topic of good roads was informally discussed. Messrs. Stephens and Quirk read a report of the trip to Ely and declared that the business interests of Ely were ready to co-operate with -Milford and Beaver county to secure the overland traffic. this way providing provid-ing the people of this county show their interest in the matter by substantial sub-stantial road improvements. The roads near Ely are in excellent condition. con-dition. The Milford route is far to be preferred over the Lincoln highway high-way it is claimed and the road could be made far superior to the Lincoln highway route. In fact, if the business busi-ness interests of Beaver county become be-come alive to their opportunities In time this route might be made a part of several famous highways leading across the country in different directions; direc-tions; But it will require prompt and definite action. The principal action necessary is the raising of funds to be expended in placing signs, printing logs of the route and properly advertising the proposed highway as the best route to travel, which it is. Those present at the banquet were W. J. Burns, A. F. McCulley, B. E. Donelson, Will Dobson, George Jefferson, Jeff-erson, Fred Reber, Hal. Stephens, I. L. Quirk and E. H. Street. Messrs. Burns and Jefferson were appointed a committee to work up interest in the matter and to call another an-other meeting which it is hoped will be largely attended. . |
