Show TO OIL INVESTORS "U-tah, writing to the Salt Lake Telegram, has a few words of warning warn-ing for prospective oil stock investors: invest-ors: He says: The oil boom seems certain to be on the way to Salt Lake. Local capital cap-ital is already heavily interested both in Caspar and the Spring Valley and Bridger districts, and the public is making inquiries, especially as the news comes to the city of the fortunes for-tunes which are being made over night at the oil fields by investors and property owners as well as by the speculators. A Drominent oil operator who has just returned from Caspar, said today: "The great danger is that the oil market, as in every other boom thai has -ever been known, will be greatly overplayed. Wildcats with no possibility possi-bility of striking oil will be launched on the strength of a gusher perhaps fifty miles away. "Flaring, flambuoyant statements will be made by those who prey on the unwary and in the end, while fortunes will perhaps be made by those who get in on companies promoted pro-moted by good substantial men, unfortunately un-fortunately in too many instances the public will be left as usual, holding hold-ing the bag. The advice I would give to all prospective buyers of oil stock would be to look carefully into the management of the company and see who is behind the project before putting put-ting in a 'lollar. But the country seems to be oil mad and once a boom is on, reason seems to fly away on wings." Ex. |
