Show 1 RED THAYER'S CAFE OPENING (Contributed) ( Every one in Beaver county was anxious for Sunday evening to come to see what kind of an opening dinner din-ner Fred Thayer would give. Well, it came, and every one was surprised at the great event. The dining room looked like a beautiful roof garden cafe, with the profusion of carnations, roses, palms and trailing ferns. The chandeliers were festooned with ferns and the sideboard and tables were decorated with taste that bespoke elegance and beauty. Now that dinner you can't describe or explain it was perfect, and the lady chef in charge earned a reputation that will never leave her, for being the best woman cook in southern Utah. A gentleman gentle-man from New York remarked, "This is certainly a little world of its own on the desert, for you have everything every-thing astonishingly good and high class all under one roof." The scene was one long to be remembered re-membered as the elegantly dressed ladies and the well dressed men were seen coming and going or being seated seat-ed at the tables. Surely great credit is due Mr. Thayer for making such a noticeable change at this now up-to-date Fred Thayer's Cafe. , : |
