Show UTAH WILL HAVE PROHIBITION LAW There is no doubt about Utah joining the rapid-. ly growing list of dry states. Both houses of the legislature are for it strong, Governor Bamberger has declared himself for it and recommended it to the legislature. The only question to cause any discussion dis-cussion of consequence before the present session is upon whether there shall be a special commission or commissioner to see that the law is properly enforced en-forced or whether the regular officers employed and paid to enforce all laws of the State shall be trusted with the enforcement of the prohibition law. The special commissioner idea seems useless and expensive. expen-sive. The prohibition law can and is being enforced as rigidly and even more so as other laws in states and communities where prohibition laws have been on the statute books for many years. If the regular officers will not do what they are elected and paid for doing, it is usually a simple matter to elect new officers. It is the same in any private business or industry. If your employe does not attend to the business he is hired to perform, he is and should be replaced. |
