Show See Who's Here 1917 BASEBALL TEAM IS HERE Milford Will Have 'Nother Winning Aggregation Ball Artists IF DOUBTFUL, PIPE THE OFFICIAL OFFI-CIAL ROOTER AND OTHERS IN LINE-UP The prospects for Milford repeating repeat-ing the excellent record made in base ball last year are very encouraging. At a meeting held last Tuesday night in Rothmyer's barber shop the annual an-nual organization was perfected. E. B. Jorgensen was re-elected manager of the team. Ezra Barton was the choice of the players for captain. An amusement committee was appointed to have charge of some interesting social features to be given soon for the purpose of raising funds for helping help-ing to finance the enterprise. This committee is composed of Jack Theis-sen, Theis-sen, H. D. (Punk) Harrington and George Atkin. The line-up of the team for the season of 1917 so far as selected is as follows: Theissen, pitcher Kirk, pitcher Coon, H., pitcher Coon, M., catcher Barton, third base Atkin, George, ce'nter field Lewis, Art, right field Harrington, Punk, left field Lewis, Myron, official score keeper Atkin, S. S., umpire Hickman, M. E., official rooter The following are listed as try- outs for the unfilled positions on the team: Kent Smith, Lund; Al. Kirk, Harry Rohblns, Jack Fullerton. Others Oth-ers may be added If good material can be located. Indeed, there may be a general shifting of positions before the season fairly opens. An election will booh be held to choose directors or trustees for the organization. Several locations for the 1917 season sea-son diamond are under consideration, but the members of the team generally gener-ally favor the old grounds southeast of the depot. The final selection and arrangements for grounds and uniform uni-form suits for the team will be left entirely in the hands of the directors to be chosen at the next meeting. It Is understood that If the woath-er woath-er is favorable the first practice will be had next Sunday at the old grounds southeast of town. |
