Show Home From Front TROOP TRAIN HERETODAY UTAH SOLDIERS PRAISED BY SUPERIORS SPENT DAY IN MILFORD Early this morning the long-expected troop train arrived. The train bears the Utah soldiers of Troops E., F., G. and H. These troops were stationed sta-tioned about three miles east of No-gales, No-gales, Arizona, on the Government border. "None of the men were engaged en-gaged in action against the outlaw bands of Mexico excepting Troop E. in a short skirmish. Many of the members of these troops have relatives rela-tives in and near Milford and there j were a lot of the home folks at the I train to greet the soldiers even at the daylight hour of arrival. Major Wallace is In command of the squadron and the troops are commanded com-manded as follows: Capt. Neilson of Troop E., Capt. Bassett of Troop F., Capt. Jorgensen of Troop G., and Capt. Wooley of Troop H. Principal Miner of the high school conceived the idea of having the officers of-ficers of the commands address or meet the students and the matter was readily arranged. The presence of the troops and the two basket ball teams somewhat demoralized the study periods at school. The students In grotesque costumes cos-tumes and banners paraded the streets advertising the basket ball game and dance and the troopers joined in the fun. It is hoped that an exhibition drill of the soldiers can be arranged for this afternoon, with the school children chil-dren In attendance to give the flag salute. It would be an Impressive occasion for the younger pupils. Brig. Gen. Ned E. H. Plummer, commanding troops operating along the Mexican border out of Nogales, Arizona, pays exceptional compliment, compli-ment, because of deportment and discipline, dis-cipline, because second squadron of Utah cavalry, which is returning from the Mexican border aftor having hav-ing been absent from Utah for more than seven months. The compliment of the border commander Is contained contain-ed in a letter which was received on board train at San Bernardino, Cal., by Maj. W. B. Wallace, commanding the returning squadron. The letter, dated Nogales, Ariz., February 27. Ib as follows: I regret very much that orders of the war department for the return of your squadron to its home station operates to separate separ-ate you from the troops of my command. I have been delighted delight-ed with the character of service your squadron has performed in the district, with the appearance of your men. policing of camps, car of animals and public property prop-erty and with the efficiency yonr squadron has attained. I consider your record for discipline, dis-cipline, orderly behavior and excellent ex-cellent health most remarkable.
