Show GONE BUT S'OV FORGOTTEN The OPA is gone. But not, as n famous personality described the :?RA after the "chicken case", "dead as a dodo." There's life in he old gal yet. The House of Representatives okayed a 20-day extension of the agency in its present 'form. The Senate balked, and at least one of the more lucid gentlemen has threatened to filibuster till the end of time to keep the OPA from being be-ing revived. We have stuck by the conviction that price control is a necessity, And most Milford merchants also hold to that point of view. However, How-ever, we believe that OPA has been : : ! one of the most messed-up affairs that ever hit this nation, and sincerely sin-cerely hope that in the new price control legislation which is almost certain to be enacted a system of controls that will be equitablt for all, will be worked out. |
