Cottrell had ; gone to Portland, Oreg-on, where they were to visit with their sis-jters sis-jters and ako to Tillamook, Oregon, Ore-gon, the place of Mrs. Cottrell's early childhood. They expected to have a months vacation. 1 I At the regular Lions club lunch- i eon at the Union Pacific dining: room the election of officers had I been held. They were as follows: I President, Joe Murdock; first vice president, Lc-s Clay; second vice president Al Cline; secretary, M. P. Lewis; treasurer, Vernon C. Johnson; tail twister, D. E. Kirk; Lion tamer, Hugh Chanslor; directors, George Jefferson, K. S. Carlton, M. H. Pool and C. R. Par- rish. A number of young people motored mo-tored to Puffer's lake and spent a pleasant time picnicking and fishing. fish-ing. Those in the party were Miss I Pearl Rodgers, Miss Louise Levi, Miss Vera McCallister, Wallace Morris, Tommy Campbell and Marian Vincent. Mrs. J. M. Williams, Miss Margaret Mar-garet Williams, Mrs. C. C. Sloan, Mrs. W. Broyles, Mrs. W. H. Elmer, and Mrs. J. B. Thiessen were among the many people who enjoyed a dance at Hanging Rock. Mrs. Sam Hickman had been hostess to a few friends. All attended at-tended a show, after which dainty refreshments were served to Mrs. S. Schow, Mrs. W. H. Elmer, Mrs. J. B. Thiessen, Mrs. Frank Farmer, Farm-er, Mrs. Clark Kesler and Mrs. Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. Kimmel Coon expected ex-pected to leave soon for California for a two month's rest. A birthday surprise party had been given Mrs. James Boyter in honor of her 71st birth anniversary. anniver-sary. The affair was planned by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. William Fernley, who invited a few of Mrs. Boyter's friends. They were Mrs. Maurice Johnson, Mrs. William Stirling, Mrs. Fred Levi and Mrs. Antone Johnson. Harry Forgie had met with a serious loss when his best farm team had died from eating poisoned poison-ed wheat at his farm. The Misses Sarah and Ruth Pool had been guests , at the home of Miss Lucile Frazier at Reed. . Mrs. George Moore and children of Provo were visiting at the home of Mrs. Antone Johnson. |
