Show Civilian Defense Meeting Is Held Milford's Civilian Defense Council Coun-cil is one of the best and most completely organized in the sTate, and is doing a great job with every ev-ery one of its mutitudinous activities; activi-ties; but it took a public meeting meet-ing aRi showing of several reels of self-explanatory talking pictures pic-tures to bring to the comprehension comprehen-sion of local people the magnitude of the work that has been done and is being done. The meeting was held Friday night in the L. D. S. Recreation hall and was attended by crowd which occupied all the seats in the hall and was attended by a crowd given the meeting, due to the uncertainty un-certainty of the films' arrival. W. E. Martin, president of the Milford town board of trustees and commander of the Milford defense zone, presided at the meeting and made a plea for more to help with the work, a plea which already has had a meritorious response, -especially from the youngsters, who are needed for possible messenger service. Giving talks or otherwise introduced intro-duced at the meeting were the following fol-lowing directors in the local civilian civil-ian defense setup: Vernon Burns, record officer; M. H. Pool, air raid warden; O. C. Koch, emergency utilities; Theodore Kronholm, emergency public works; S. G. C r o n, communications officer; F. L. Osborn, auxiliary police; C. L. Grimshaw, control chief; Max Barter, regular fire depairtimefn(t; Warren Atkin, emergency auxiliary auxil-iary fire department; Dr. R. R. Shannon, emergency medical; and Attorney Sam Cline, county coordinator. |
