Show CCCEnrolleesAre Involved In Fight Freeman McCarty, Reon Brown and Buford Waddell, three C C C youth's affiliated with the Milford camp and originally hailing from one of the southern states, have been off-and-on guests of Sheriff Jasper Puffer at Beaver the past week following a regretable fighting, fight-ing, scrape in which they are alleged al-leged to have been involved following fol-lowing the Junior prom at the high school last Friday night. Told by one of the teachers to close a window of the gym following fol-lowing the dance, Gilbert McCul-ley, McCul-ley, 17-year old junior student weighing barely a hundred pounds, if that much, is said to have been attacked and badly beaten by the youths in custody, who are also said to be adepts at applying strangle holds. With one eye closed and his face all bloody, young Mc-Culley Mc-Culley made his way to the home of his brother, Walter McCulley, and the latter and his wife came down town in search of an officer. Nearing the Telluride building, Mr.' and Mrs. McCulley encountered encount-ered the three CCC youths and, following an exchange of words, Mr. McCulley became the victim of an attack even more severe than that suffered by his brother. Saturday the three CCC youths were placed under arrest by Deputy Dep-uty . Sheriff L. G. Clay and were later taken to the county jail in the absence of $100 bail each, set by Justice James W. Glenn. Tuesday Tues-day 'they had a hearing before Justice Glenn but asked for a change of venue to the Heavier court and further proceedings are awaiting recovery of Walter McCulley Mc-Culley so that he may testify against his alleged assailants. He has been confined 'to his home on his doctor's orders, due to injuries to his back which he sustained in the melee. ' ' M |
