Show v Farm Equipment 'Destroyed By Fire A shed, approximately 16x24 feet in size, a farm tractor, a brandnew windmill, a feed grinder and other farm and dairy equipment equip-ment were completely destroyed by fire shortly after noon Tuesday Tues-day at the Van Der Meer dairy, located on what was formerly the Ellingsworth place, south of town. Milford's fine new fire truck made the run to the place, manned by a crew of M. V. F. D. members and volunteers and it was possible to save surrounding buildings through use of the 150-gallon storage tank carried by the truck. This supply of water, worked through the efficient small nozzles, noz-zles, is good for some 20 minutes of work and really prdvted its value in Tuesday's fire. One of the nearby buildings contained a supply sup-ply of farm'-use gasoline while another building is undergoing Te-modeling Te-modeling which will fit it for use as living quarters. The fire is understood to have got its start while the tractor was being primed for operation. The loss included some truck and tractor tires, the only article saved being a single new tire, according to report. V |
