Show Advance Use of Stamps Possible To assist farmers in marketing supplies of fresh meat, particularly particular-ly pork, the 0 P A has vialidated advance use of stamps in war ration ra-tion book four, Mrs. E. L. Smith, community service member of the Milford war price and rationing board, announces. Red stamps in book four, numbering num-bering "8" from letters "A" through "M", (12 stamps in all), the board member says, have been given a value of ten points each and may be used to purchase fresh meat from a farm slaughterer only, not a1 retailer. Brown stamps three, valid until February 27, also may be spent in one block when buying rationed meat from a1 farmer. The value of these brown stamps will be that stamped on their face and is not increased as in the case of the red stamps in book four. O P A has always provided that the meat stamps in any ration book could be used in advance of the validity date for purchases from farm slaughterers. The advance use of meat stamps, I it is explained, does not increase ' an individual's allowance of ra1- j tioned meat. It merely permits the person buying from a farmer to follow the normal practice of buying at one time fairly large amounts. |
