Show IPIans Being Made ! For 7th War Loan i First call for the "Mighty Seventh!" Sev-enth!" Primary phase of Utah's Seventh Sev-enth War Loan will open Monday, April 9, with "advance" campaigns in payroll savings and in the I schools, it was announced this I week by State Chairman Charles L. Smith of the Utah War Finance committee. j The main, or secondary phase of the, Mighty Seventh so-callled because be-cause of a 65 percent increase in Series "E" bond quota will get underway May 14. Pushed back until June 18 is the start of the corporation drive to sell marketable securities. June 30 is the windup for all three phases. Sales processed by the Federal Reserve bank through July 7 will count in the Seventh War Loan. The national Seventh War Loan quota of $14 billion is equally divided di-vided between individual and corporation cor-poration purchasers. Utah's quota is not yet established, but it- is believed be-lieved individual buyers will be asked to subscribe almost three-fourths three-fourths of the total, and E bond buyers almost one half, j Machinery is already set up for j the payroll savings drive, super-I super-I vised by Lincoln R. "This is the first time quotas have been graduated on a basis of average earnings and ability to invest. Knowing this, we are confident con-fident every wage earner will sign up during April to purchase his quota by deduction from his April, May and June paychecks." All school stamp and bond purchases pur-chases from April 9 until the end of the school year will count in the Seventh War Loan, said Ernest M. Hanson, state chairman of Schools at War. Basically, every high school pupil will be asked to buy at least one $25 bond, and every elementary elemen-tary pupil $10 in stamps," said Mr. Hanson. "Every school has been asked to plan some special kickoff event for April 9." In connection with the Seventh War Loan drive, a meeting was held in Beaver Wednesday afternoon after-noon at which time Mrs. Otto Wiesley of Salt Lake City gave a talk. Those from Milford attending attend-ing the meeting were Mrs. Ethel Nielsen, Mrs. Bellverine Palmer, Mrs. Susan Baxter and Vance Fisher. |
