Show Champions Leave Next Monday for State Tourney BEAVER-MILLARD DISTRICT Final Team .Standing Team W. L. Pet. Milford 7 1 .875 Hinokley 5 3 .625 Delta ; 5 3 .625 Millard (Fillmore) 2 6 .250 Beaver : .1 7 .125 Floyd Kotter, athletic coach at the Milford high school, with ten of the fastest basketball players in the state and their efficient mana-ber, mana-ber, Arleigh Campeau, leave next Monday for Salt Lake City, where they are determined to bring further fur-ther credit to their school, town, county and division in the annual prep school state tournament. Players to make the trip will be Captain Jess McKnight, Dan Gillies; Gil-lies; Doug Kirk and Bud James, forwards; Isadore Gillins and Austin Aus-tin Williams, centers; and Nolan Williams, Allen Bingham, Jim Hickman and Floyd Carter, guards. It will be first time Milford has had an entry in the state tourney, and the first time in several years that Milford has had a team finish the division schedule except in the cellar position; but for Coach Kotter it will he no novelty. Last year was the first in five consecutive years that he has not had a team in the state tournament! tourna-ment! The three preceding years, the first in his coaching experience, experi-ence, he was coach at Salina high school and won a tourney berth each year. Coming probably as a means of preventing over-confidence on the part of the Milford team, practise games against M-Men teams Friday Fri-day and Saturday nights resulted in defeats. On Friday night the Milford M-Men team of 1934-35-36, which represented southwestern Utah in the all-church tournament those years, edged out the high school lads by a three-point mar-i mar-i gin, and on Saturday night the ! Beaver M-Men, who this year have ' an excellent chance of going to the all-church tourney, gave the t M. H. S. team a good drubbing in a game played at Beaver. !
