Here in Utah there is a vast unarmed un-armed force that is straining every muscle to keep the armed forces at the fronts supplied with the vital .-.inns of war metals. It is the metal mining Industry of Utah, which in normal limes supports directly and indirectly nearly one half the population of the state. This army is doing its part In the victory program and iloing it well. When it is considered that Utah !s the leading non-ferrous mining and smelling center in the world, it can he realized what an important impor-tant part this state is taking in the war effort of Uncle Sam. The state can justly be proud of what is being done. However, no industry nor group can be satisfied until the final victory vic-tory is won. If onr armed forces need more to win a victory and win it quick, everyone must redouble iheir efforts. The war production board recently re-cently stressed the need for more copper, lead and zinc. The answer is that more low-grade ore. un mineable at present prices, is avail able in Utah from which the nation can draw. Removal of certain limiting factors would immediately stimulate the flow of metals to thi commou cause of victory. |
