Show CHRISTIANSC1ENCE The subject of the Christian Science lesson-sermon for Sunday, November 1, is "Everlasting Punishment". Among the Scriptural references are: "The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever: for-ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether." (Ps. 19: 8,8). "Whosoever com-mitteth com-mitteth gin transgresseth the law: for sin is the transgression of the law." (I John 3: 4). "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and ibody in hell." (Matt. 10: 28). "The highway high-way of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul." (Pro v. 16: 17). The following correlative passages pass-ages are frcm "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy: "Truth, Life, and Love are the only legitimate and eternal demands on man, and they are spiritual lawgivers, enforcing en-forcing obedience through divine Statues." (p. 184: 12M15). "Do you ask wisdom to be merciful and not to punish sin? Then "ye ask amiss." Without punishment sin would multiply." (p. 10: 31-1). "There is but one way to heaven, harmony, and Christ in divine Science shows us the way. It is to know no other reality to have no other consciousness of life than good, God and his reflection, and to rise superior to the so-called pain and pleasure of the senses." (p. 242: 9-14). . . |
