Show Social Security Office Is Moved Closing of the Richfield Social Security field office, effective on June 30, will necessitate that all inquiries and correspondence formerly directed to the Richfield i effice be directed to the field office of-fice at 123 East 3rd South, Salt i Lake City, LUah, the nearest office of-fice which will continue to operate 'full time, it is announced by Harry i E. Johnson, manager of the Rich- ' field office. j The social security field office 1 at Salt Lake City will be respon-i respon-i sible for the business and files I formerly handled by the Richfield 1 office. The territory served by j the Richfield office included the I following counties: Beaver, Iron, Emery, Garfield, Kane, Millard. Piute, , Sanpete, Sevier, Washington Washing-ton and Wayne. "It will not be necessary, how-! how-! ever, for persons in these counties to travel to Salt Lake City on matters relating to old-age and survivers insurance," Mr. Johnson said. "The Salt Lake City office will be glad to handle applications for social security account number num-ber cards by mail; answer questions ques-tions about any phase of old-age j and survivors insurance; and help ! check on individual social security accounts," he added. Planned trips will be made by field representatives rep-resentatives to southern Utah when business warrants. At the present time more than 160 persons in the Richfield area i receive monthly benefit checks. Of these, more .than 95 are widows and yopng children. Mr. Johnson is being transferred transfer-red to the managership of one of the social security field offices in Idaho, replacing a manager who is entering the military services. He will remain in Richfield for a time, closing up board affairs in this area V |
