The body of Mrs. Fillmore J was recovered almost at once by her sister, Mrs. Mary Jane Edwards, Ed-wards, who was able to get the j body into the boat and rowed to ! shore. The nine intervening days had been devoted to patroling the reservoir and grappling with all available equipment. All efforts had been unavailing, however, until Tuesday when nature took a J hand and brought the body to the surface. A 17-year old Miners- I ville girl, Evelyn Roberts, was drowned in the same body of water July 30, 1936, but the body came to the surface in seven days in this case. The much lower temperature tempera-ture of the water this time of year probably accounts for the increased in-creased time taken to bring the man's body to the surface. The unfortunate man had made his home in Milford much of the last three or four yeai's, coming here to help his father construct the new houses on Walrus street some three years ago, later entering enter-ing the employ of the Union Pacific Pa-cific railroad as a brakeman. The body was taken to Fillmore where he was born November 28. 1913, a son of Henry and Loa Black Hansen. He was married nine years ago to Norma Dewsnip and she and three daughters, L'oa Rose, May Jean and Connie Ray, survive him; also his parents and brother and a sister, Mrs. Portia Jensen of Fillmore. |
