Show Flag Day June 14 Sunday, June 14, has been desig-' nated by the president of the United States as "Flag Iay". The American's Creed, written by William Wil-liam Tyler Page, is a creed which should be learned, obeyed and constantly in our minds. It follows: fol-lows: "I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a. democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect per-fect union, one and inseparable; insepar-able; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, equal-ity, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. for-tunes. I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its constitution; consti-tution; to obey its laws; to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies." Throughout the nation flags will be displayed. All who are able to do so should display a flag in their windows, outside their homes, in places of business, and wherever a flag should properly be displayed. Show your patriotism and love of country by keeping this day in mind and observing it as Flag Day! XT |
