Deer hunters on the various units of the Fishlake district j (which includes the Beaver moun-! moun-! tains) will be given a 23-day hunt-; hunt-; ing season this year, and, by purchasing pur-chasing an antlerless deer permit, costing $1.50, may take a doe or other hornless deer any time during dur-ing that period. The open season for these units will be from Saturday, Satur-day, October 17, to Sunday, No-j No-j vember 8, both dates inclusive. But there will be cjnly the regular 11-day open season (October 17-27) and no doe-shooting permitted, per-mitted, on hunting areas located west of highway 91, which- in-j in-j eludes the Mineral range of moun-i moun-i tains between the Beaver and Mil-ford Mil-ford valleys a favorite hunting spot for many Milford1 people and others who come from out of state points for the deer-hunting season. sea-son. No antlerless deer permits ! will be issued except to holders of regular big game hunting licenses I and these permits will' be good for hunting only on the units for which they are issued. These and other regulations concerning the annual deer-hunting season in Utalh were issued Saturday by the state board of ' big game control and incorporated in the officia'l proclamation issued Sunday. A total of 32,300 antlerless deer per-mits per-mits are to be issued in the state this year a jump of S000 over previous years. There will be 20,000 permits for antlerless deer issued for the units comprising the Fishlake district, dis-trict, and of this numbei-, 3500 will be issued for the Beaver unit. This unit, roughly speaking, includes in-cludes all the territory bounded by highways 91 and 89 on the west and east, and by Wildcat pass on the north and the Fremont-Dog Valley road on the south. In addition to the Beaver unit there will be 1000 permits issued for the Oak City unit, 3000 for the Fillmore unit, 4000 for the Kanoslh unit, 1400 for the Clear Creek-JPine Creek unit, 4100 for the Saliha-Fishlake unit, and 3000 for the Monroe Mountain unit. Antlerless deer hunting permits will be issued only to hunters who hav obtained a regular Utah big game hunting license. Fees shall be $1.50 each for residents and $(2.00 each for non-resident hunters. hunt-ers. Applications and fees for special spec-ial deer permits for all areas will be received by all license agents in all parts of the state, or the applicant may write tfhe Fish and Game commission, 329 State Capitol building, Salt Lake City, Utah. Applications and fees j taken by license agents will then be forwarded to the , Fish and Game commission offices, at Salt Lake City and the permits mailed 'direct to the applicant. All fees for permits must accompany each ! application. The applicant will be ! required to produce his regular j Utah big game hunting license before be-fore an application for a special , permit can be accepted. Applicants Appli-cants writing direct to the com-! com-! mission at Salt Lake City must supply the number of his buck I license and the name of the agent I from whom it was purchased, j along with his full name and ad-j ad-j dress, choice of hunting district or : unit. It shall be unlawful to sub-j sub-j mit more than one application for districts on which permits are limited. These districts are Cache. Paradise, Wasateh-Lost Creek, I Coalville-Chalk Creek, Kamas. j Grantsville, HeJbcr. Timpanogos. j Hobble Creek-Diamond Fork, Nebo I and Salt Lake. None of the units I in the Fishlake district is included ! in this category. Permits for the Fphraim-Spring ' City district, Manti district, all the Fishlake dTstrict units, the La Sal 'district and the Dixie district will be received beginning September 20 and until the authorized number num-ber is sold or until the close of the hunting season on these districts. Applications for permits per-mits on all other districts will be received from September 20 to 30. inclusive, or until all permits are sold. Unsuccessful applicants will have their money refunder. j A hunter is required: to tag his , deer, whether killed under regular big game hunting license or spec-i spec-i a 1 permit, immediately after making the kill and it shall be unlawful un-lawful to transport said deer from the place of kill without said tag being attached1 thereto. The postcard post-card portion of the deer tag must be returned to the State Fish and Game commission, 329 State Capitol Capi-tol building, no later than five days after the close of the deer season for the unit or. district in which the kill is made. Another innocation in the way planned for Utah this fall, with the designation of special "post season" hunts on Salt Lake, Tim-panogos Tim-panogos and Parowan-Paragtonah preserves. Provided further that it shall be unlawful to hunt, kill or pursue deer at any time with any kind of revolver, pistol, or with a .25-20 calibre, .22 special, or any other .22 calibre rifle except a .22 high power, a .22 Hornet or a .22 Swift. Provided further that it shall be illegal to use tracer bullets or any other that standard ammunition ammuni-tion for thd'hunting of deer. Provided further that it shall be unlawful for any person at any time to hunt, kill or pursue deer with dogs. . Provided further that no person under 16 may procure a license or special permit for the hunting of deer. Provided further that' it shall be unlawful for hunters to fail to stop at checking stations where a stop sign is placed requesting them to do so.
